Experienced motorists know the design and operational features of the original Niva. The cars of the first assemblies of the late 70s of the last century were distinguished by good cross-country ability, but they also had problems with handling and comfort. When planning tuning, the following design features of the Niva should be taken into account:
- a short base can cause a rollover when performing sharp maneuvers at high speed;
- low power (83 hp) is offset by good maneuverability;
- there is a four-wheel drive, supplemented by a differential lock, several lower gears.

Body reinforcement

- increase in ground clearance up to 4.5 cm;
- be sure to strengthen the lateral jet thrust;
- the rear suspension scheme is made three-link, A-shaped;
- installation of rear springs and modern polyurethane spacers;
- installation of dual-type shock absorbers on the rear and front suspension;
- Requires an inversion limiter for the front wheels.

Metal body kit and interior tuning
During hunting and fishing trips on the Niva, you will need to take a lot of additional cargo. The small size of the trunk of a three-door model will not be able to accommodate it. - additional lighting devices;

Transmission modification will require more time and effort. It is performed only with the full tuning of the Niva for hunting and fishing. You can install a reinforced clutch, new steering knuckles, improve engine performance by adjusting or boring it. But these works will entail a significant increase in the cost of tuning.
